Discover The Region
You will find Grächen in the middle of upper Wallis, in the southern part of Switzerland between Zermatt, Saas Fee and Visp/Brig and close to the Italian border. Grächen is located not down in the valley but up on a hill at 1620 meters, with up to 300 days of sun, in a calm location but full of activities.

Ski or Snowboard?
At just 2 minutes from the hotel you can take the cable car to Hannigalp where you will find 11 skilifts and a total of 44 kilometers ski runs going up to 2800 meters, for beginner to advanced. There is also a downhill run which will take you almost back to the hotel.
MORE Ski or Snowboard?
No problem, we have daily shuttle/taxi services to Zermatt, the highest ski resort in Europe where you will find 360 kilometers of blue, red and black runs. We also have a shuttle/taxi service to Saas Fee which offers 100 kilometers of blue to black runs going up to 3600 meters of altitude.
Shuttle/taxi services must be booked in advance and be paid cash, directly at the taxi driver.
Cross country Skiing? Yes also possible!
In the Matterhorn Valley between Randa & Täsch you will find 15km of prepared trails. On the Hannigalp you can also find a cross country loupe.
Hiking?
There are leisurely hiking trails along the suonen (old open water pipes) in the shady forest, visit one of the many mountain huts around Grächen and marvel at ibex or other wild animals or explore one of the many hiking trails starting in Grächen. A day hike on the famous Grächen-Saas Fee high-altitude trail, but only for those with no fear of heights. Explore Alp Jungen on the opposite side of the valley from Grächen and follow the signs posted mountain flower trail. Take a day trip to Zermatt or Saas Fee, which offer also countless hiking trails.
A shuttle/taxi service to Zermatt and Saas Fee can also be booked in summer. Only with reservation in advance and payable in cash directly to the taxi driver.
Hiking tip!
The Glacier gate in just under 2 hours from the Hotel you will feel like on another planet were you will be able to take a swim in a lake with glacier water! But will you?
Up for Sledging, Snowshoe hiking or try out a snow bike?
You have adventures Snowshoe hiking trail up to the Wannihorn or simpler forest trails around Hannigalp. You can sledge down from Hannigalp to Grächen just 2 minutes away from the Hotel.
Looking for activities to enjoy with your kids?
Around Grächen there are many interesting games for the kids and will also find the Robis children play park just 5 minutes from the Hotel with Zip-lines or a indoor playground, climbing wall, mini golf, tennis badminton and much more! In the Winter you can go also Ice Skating!
Snow fun for Kids?
On the Hannigalp you will find a Funpark and Familyslopes
Looking for Adrenalin or for some other kind of fun?
Then you can perhaps try Water-ski or wake board or just swim in a mountain lake? How does that sound or prefer to take a helicopter to see the impressive Swiss Mountains? Or (and) outdoor and indoor climbing river rafting on the Vispa?
NEW! Cable car ride Switzerland – Italy “Matterhorn Glacier Ride”
From Zermatt in Switzerland over the 3883-metre-high Klein Matterhorn to Breuil-Cervinia on the Italian side of the Matterhorn. The new cable car “flies over” the Theodul Glacier over a distance of 1.6 km. The one-way journey takes 11/2 hours
Heard of the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge?
Hike up to the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the Alps, high above Randa (reachable by train or car) in the Matter-valley, close to Grächen. Are you brave enough to cross it?
Day Off? Relaxation..
Apart from our Wellness Area you can visit the Brigerbad Thermalbaths which is located approx. 30min. driving from the Hotel.

Then you are in the right place! Wallis is biggest wine region of Switzerland offering a wide variety of 60 different wine grapes compared to the 6 grapes you find in the Bordeaux region! You can also find the Europe’s highest wine yard just next door. Visperterminen located between 650 to 1150 meter. We have in our Restaurant a wide varity of selected wines from the region!
